A new lease of life for Michael Knight

28th September

2007

Comingsoon.net reports that Knight Rider is returning to our TV screens in the not-too-distant future. No news yet on whether David Hasselhoff will be involved, but surely they’ll see sense and get him to slip on his leather trousers once again.

Time for Aston Martin

27th September

2007

Aston Martin, designers of some of the most outrageously, spectacularly wonderful and expensive cars on the planet, have released a new watch that can lock, unlock and start the DBS. OK, so it’s expensive at $35,000, but as it’s only available to DBS owners who’ve spent $332,000 on their car I doubt they’ll get many complaints.

Google to take on Second Life

26th September

2007

Google is rumoured to be planning a rival to the 3D virtual world Second Life, scheduled to be launched late 2007.

If this is true (and this being the internet, you really never know), it’ll be a surprising departure for Google, a company that has built its reputation on solid, reliable, consumer-orientated online applications. Second Life, whilst undoubtedly a great money spinner for Linden Lab, is a controversial, marriage-wrecking, sad, barely-legal, addictive beast that keeps people from pursuing their non-avatar based, real lives.

iPod Touch - a PDA in disguise?

6th September

2007

I’m sure you’ve already heard everything there is to know about Apple’s new iPod Touch. The “iPhone-minus-phone” is a beauty, and boasts the same innovative touchscreen interface and wifi capability as the iPhone.

In theory, and only if the software/firmware allows, the hardware should allow the unit to make a fantastic PDA. Add an email client (far better than using webmail in Safari), calendaring functionality and a basic note-taking application and the usefulness of the unit increases exponentially. I’d be much happier taking this on holiday than my MacBook.
